One can reach Joshimath from Haridwar via road transportation. Trekker can take a bus or hire a car from Haridwar till Joshimath. The total distance is 256 kms which will take around 10 to 12 hours to cover.
During the journey, trekker will cover Rishikesh which is known as Yoga capital of world And White River rafting of India. If you want to do River rafting, you can reach Rishikesh a day earlier.
Rishikesh to Devprayag, Devprayag is known for confluence of Bhagirathi river and Alaknanda river, Srinagar to Rudraprayad which is known for confluence of Mandakni river and Alaknanda river. Rudraprayag to karnprayag which is known for confluence of Pindar River and Alaknanda River.
After crossing all the Prayags you will reach Joshimath. On the first day, you will start drive till Dhak and start your trek to Gulling top Campsite. The walk continues through dense forest. Next day you will start your trek from Gulling top to Tali, you will be trekking through coniferous forest of blue pine, oaks. If you are a bird lover you will get to see varieties of bird over here.
On the third, you will start your trek from Tali to Pangarchulla and back to Tali, this day you will start your trek to Pangarchulla summit. Before reaching the peak, the trail will be filled with boulders and snow. On 5th day, you will return to Joshimath via the popular tourist destination Auli. On next day after breakfast you can leave for Haridwar.
